These pieces are made of assembled wood that has been cut in strips ; glued together ; cut and reassembled. This process has been used to make turned objects such as vases and bowls on a lathe with marvelous results. There is a little lathe work in the bangles and rings, but also a lot of hand shaping by sanding.
